Wine caves are specifically designed to store wine in optimal conditions. At Fridec, we design and build custom wine cellars. Our facilities play a crucial role in preserving the quality and developing the organoleptic characteristics of the wine. We understand that the primary function of a wine caves is to provide an environment with controlled temperature, humidity, and light—essential factors for maintaining the wine's integrity.
Temperature is one of the most important elements in a wine cave. It must remain constant, ideally between 12 and 16 degrees Celsius. Temperature fluctuations can cause the wine to expand and contract, affecting its flavour and structure. Therefore, our cellars maintain a stable and optimal temperature.
Light is another factor to consider; prolonged exposure to light, especially ultraviolet light, can degrade the wine and alter its flavours. For this reason, we use lighting specifically designed to provide soft and protected illumination to minimise the impact on the wine.
The showcase we offer at Fridec is the transparent vision of wine storage, providing an arrangement of bottles and storage visible to the customer. We can offer you static cellars and dynamic cellars, where we can store many bottles and access them with our “wine wheel” system.
In summary, wine caves are essential for preservation, providing ideal conditions of temperature, humidity, light, and ventilation. Proper design and maintenance are fundamental to preserving the wine's characteristics and quality, allowing it to develop its full potential over time.
